Community Guidelines

Draft notice: These guidelines supplement our Terms of Service. They may be updated as the community grows. Violations can result in content removal, suspension, or permanent ban.

Bussly is built around a shared journey — a daily virtual route where passengers in supported European cities discover one another within the same trip. That only works if everyone boards with respect, honesty, and good faith.

These Community Guidelines set the standards we expect from every member. They apply to your profile, photos, messages, and any behaviour on or off the app that originates from Bussly interactions.

1. Adults only — 18+

Bussly is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. You may not:

  • Create an account if you are under 18
  • Upload images of minors as your profile photos
  • Attempt to contact, solicit, or share content involving anyone under 18

Accounts suspected of belonging to minors are removed immediately and may be reported to authorities.

2. Be yourself

Your boarding card should represent you. We require authentic profiles:

  • Use recent photos that clearly show your face and accurately reflect your appearance
  • Do not impersonate another person, celebrity, or fictional character
  • Do not use heavily filtered, AI-generated, or misleading images as your primary photo
  • Keep your bio and prompts truthful — honesty builds trust on the route

Minimum two photos are required. Photos should be in appropriate aspect ratio and must not violate these guidelines.

3. Respect every passenger

Treat others the way you would want to be treated on a shared journey:

  • No harassment, bullying, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact after someone has passed or unmatched
  • No hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
  • No threats, intimidation, or encouragement of violence
  • No sexual harassment or unsolicited explicit content
  • Accept "no" gracefully — a pass is a pass

4. Keep it appropriate

Bussly is a dating app for adults, but public-facing profile content must remain suitable for the platform:

  • No nudity or sexually explicit images in profile photos
  • No graphic violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
  • No illegal activity or promotion of illegal substances
  • No weapons displayed in a threatening context

Private messages between matched adults have more latitude, but non-consensual explicit content, coercion, and illegal material are never permitted.

5. No spam, scams, or solicitation

Bussly is for genuine personal connections — not commercial exploitation:

  • No promoting businesses, paid services, social media accounts, or referral links
  • No cryptocurrency, investment, or "sugar" scams
  • No requesting money, gifts, or financial information
  • No phishing, malware links, or attempts to move conversations to unmonitored platforms for fraudulent purposes

6. Honour the route mechanics

Our virtual bus schedule keeps discovery fair and local. Do not attempt to:

  • Spoof or falsify your location to board from an unsupported city
  • Use emulators, scripts, or bots to automate swiping or boarding
  • Circumvent Bus Pass requirements or share accounts
  • Manipulate the Discover pool through coordinated fake accounts

Remember: a Bus Pass grants access to the trip, but you must board during your city's window to become discoverable. Gaming the system undermines the experience for everyone.

7. Privacy & consent

  • Do not share another user's photos, messages, or personal information without their consent
  • Do not screenshot or distribute private conversations to humiliate or expose others
  • Respect boundaries in messages and when moving conversations offline

8. Reporting & blocking

If someone makes you uncomfortable, you have tools:

  • Block — immediately removes them from your experience
  • Report — flags the profile or message for our moderation team

Reports are reviewed by humans where possible. False or malicious reports may also result in action against the reporting account.

9. Enforcement

Violations may result in:

  • Content removal or profile edits required before continuing
  • Temporary suspension from Discover or messaging
  • Permanent account termination without refund
  • Referral to law enforcement where required

We reserve the right to take action at our discretion, including for behaviour that technically falls outside these examples but harms the community.

10. A note on the metaphor

Bussly's bus route is virtual. There is no physical vehicle. The boarding pass aesthetic is part of our brand — please do not use it to imply that Bussly arranges real-world transport or travel services.
