Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Bussly mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Bussly ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Bussly.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

Bussly is designed for adults in supported European cities. At launch, supported cities are London, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Berlin. Your location must match a supported city to board a trip and appear in Discover. We may add or remove cities at our discretion.

2. What Bussly is — and is not

Bussly is a location-based dating application built around a virtual daily bus routeacross European cities. The "bus", "route", "boarding pass", and related language are metaphors for a shared discovery schedule — not a physical vehicle or transport service.

  • There is no physical bus and no real-world travel is arranged through Bussly.
  • Bussly does not provide matchmaking guarantees, background checks, or offline safety escorts.
  • Any in-person meetings are solely between you and other users, at your own risk.

3. Accounts

You may register using email and password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide truthful profile information, including photos that accurately represent you. Impersonation, fake profiles, and misrepresentation are prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.

4. Bus Pass, payments & refunds

A Bus Pass grants you the right to join Discover on active trips for the duration of your plan. Current plans include Daily (€0.99), Weekly (€3.99), Monthly (€9.99), and Yearly (€69.99). Prices may change; the price shown at purchase applies to that transaction.

One ticket. Everything unlocked. A valid Bus Pass unlocks Discover for the plan period. There is no separate premium tier required for messaging matched users.

Purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing. Refund requests are handled according to the applicable store's policies. We do not guarantee refunds outside those channels unless required by law.

5. Boarding, Discover & the virtual route

A Bus Pass alone does not make you discoverable. You must board during your city's stop windowby tapping "Board now" (or equivalent) while boarding is open in the app.

  • Each city has a scheduled stop on the daily route with a limited boarding window (typically three hours).
  • If you miss your city's window, you will not appear in Discover for that trip. You may board on a future departure when your city comes around again.
  • Discover shows passengers who have boarded the current trip — not a global, unlimited pool.
  • At the end of each trip, discoverability resets. All passengers must board again on subsequent trips.

Trip schedules, stop intervals, and rotation rules may be adjusted by us to keep discovery fair across supported cities.

6. User conduct

You agree to use Bussly respectfully and lawfully. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Community Guidelines. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:

  • Harassment, hate speech, threats, or abuse of any kind
  • Sexual content involving minors, or any attempt to contact minors
  • Spam, scams, fraud, or solicitation for commercial purposes
  • Sharing another person's private information without consent
  • Uploading content you do not have the right to use
  • Circumventing location, boarding, or payment restrictions

We may investigate reports, remove content, suspend, or permanently ban accounts at our sole discretion.

7. Safety & offline meetings

We do not conduct criminal background checks on users. You are solely responsible for your safety when interacting with others on or off the Service. Please read our Safety Tips before meeting anyone in person.

Use the in-app report and block tools if you encounter concerning behaviour. In an emergency, contact local authorities immediately.

8. Your content & licence

You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, prompts, messages, etc.). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the Service.

We may remove content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.

9. Intellectual property

The Bussly name, logo, app design, boarding-card aesthetic, and all related branding are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or exploit our intellectual property without written permission.

10. Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app. Deletion follows a soft-delete period of 28 days, during which you may be able to restore your account. After that grace period, your account and associated data are permanently removed, subject to legal retention requirements described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that you will find matches, that other users are who they claim to be, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bussly and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or interactions with other users.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) €50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bussly from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with other users.

14. Changes to the Service & Terms

We may update features, pricing, supported cities, or trip mechanics at any time. We may also revise these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or on our website. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which Bussly is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence remain unaffected where applicable.
